It’s true…in the great quarantine of 2020, I started using my free time to create jingles for pets.

It’s weird, I know. But it’s been spreading some joy, which we could all use right now.

TL;DR - Everything blows right now. Let’s try and spread some more smiles! I will make a goofy little jingle for your pet. Venmo @SethDuin or PayPal (pay-what-you-want, starting at $5) and send me a picture of your pet, and I’ll get you added to the list. You can submit pictures via Twitter or Instagram, or using my contact form on this website. $1 from each video goes to Feeding America or Open Arms of Minnesota.

How This All Started
The coronavirus has affected everyone in the world in some way. For us musicians, it meant all of our gigs getting cancelled. Countless hours of work in planning months ahead, straight down the drain. So, like other musicians, I asked my Instagram followers, “What would you actually pay to see streamed?” I was pretty excited at the amount of folks who urged me to “bring the dog videos back.”

What are the “dog videos?”Well last winter, I was feeling the weight of some winter blues in a snow-covered Montreal and began singing jingles to dogs on PetFinder to get a few laughs. A goofy lookin’ dog can cheer anyone up. I started Tweeting reactionary videos where I sang, auto-tuned, and vocoded the jingle. Before I knew it, people around the country began sending me unsolicited pics of their dogs…it was the most wonderful way to beat the darkness of the season. I kept up on it for a few weeks.

So on March 16, after we were urged to self-quarantine in Minnesota, I brought the dog thread back to spread some joy. Only this time, with a requirement that you Venmo or PayPal me starting at $5, where $1 from each video will go to Feeding America or Open Arms of Minnesota, two organizations doing incredibly important work right now. Yes, I’m out of some work due to event cancellations— but there are countless others who have it way worse than me.

It’s been amazing to see the response. People ordering jingles for friends going through a hard time, or people letting me know that it simply gave them a gut-laugh when they needed it most. From the bottom of my heart, thanks to all who have ordered a video so far!

It is worth noting— I do have a life and don’t spend 24 hours a day doing these videos. Please respect a 2-3 week wait time for your video, I’ll get it to you as fast as I can! I want to make sure that yours is unique, so I put a fair amount of time in to each one.

Thanks to KARE 11 for running this story, detailing how it started, and thanks to City Pages for also sharing the good word.
